I am so excited to share with you my adventures while visiting The Netherlands. I went over to the Netherlands with a group of seven other women from one of my quilt groups. We arrived in Amsterdam by 1:00 pm and hit the ground running! We walked along ally's filled with wonderful aroma's of glorious baked items, pizza, and cheeses and of course weed. Small shops filled with all kinds of Dutch souvenirs like wooden shoes, blue and white delft and we can't forget Magic Mushrooms.
We were centrally located in the heart of the spectacular city of Amsterdam where we walked next to the beautiful canal waterways, and lovely town homes.
I was lucky enough to go with 7 amazing women that are very talented quilt artists. It was so much fun as we saw so many sights in the area. We ventured out to the countryside and saw the most beautiful tulips and spring flowers.

A Great Day!
Yesterday, I had such a great day. My Hearts and Hands Quilt Bee Group came today for a free sew day. We have been together for about 3 years and the more we are together the more fun we have. We have learned so much from each other. We work on so many different things. Some of us were working on the Virginia Quilt Museum Botanical Quilt, others were doing reverse appliqué Dutch Treat, quilts for our quilt rooms etc. After a few hours we had lunch where eating, laughing and plans for a future field trip were discussed. After, back to our work where we continued with our passion of stitching. Can't wait to get together with my Bee Sisters again!

My First Dear Jane Quilt
It's the 4th month that I have been involved in making A Dear Jane Quilt. I am way behind but am learning so much. After yesterday's tutoring appliqués class I am pumped to try again! Hopefully in the next few days I will have some blocks to share.

Baby Quilts Galore
I can't believe how many UFO's I have completed this past few days. I am happy to report that I have finished 3 quilts for newborn babies and a rooster wall hanging. I love everything about quilting. The planning, sewing quilting and finishing the quilt with binding by hand is so relaxing! I use a sit down mid-arm to quilt and I love it! Tomorrow I begin a new project for my neighbor Karen.

My 1st Blog Ever!
I have always wanted to try to blog, so thanks to Kelly Ann's Quilting, in Old Town Warrenton, I have taken the plunge!
It is Sunday Morning in Va. and it's a very rainy morning. The sounds of the pitter patter of raindrops are tapping on the roof above me as I am in my loft. This is MY space where I come to have my own time. I love to sew and quilt so you could say this is my workshop or studio. I love it and try to visit my space as often as I can. Riley loves to stay in the loft with me. I think he enjoys the hum of the machines running and he knows I am home and not out and about. Riley is almost 4 years old and is the family baby. He cries when I leave and cries when I get home. Infact Riley is always crying for one reason or another. Yes, he is spoiled rotten.
Enjoy your day where ever you are and have fun. Until next time have a happy day.
